ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
MODERN LANUGUAGES
DIRECTOR, SILP (Self-Instructed Language Program) and LANGUAGE LAB
(Full-time, 9 month contract)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Rivier University invites outstanding teachers and scholars to apply for one tenure-line position in Modern Languages. The successful candidate must hold an advanced degree in Spanish (M.A. or above) and a PhD in Spanish, Linguistics, or Second Language Acquisition. The successful candidate will also have experience and expertise in curriculum design and administration, second-language acquisition, and the ability to apply recent developments in the application of technology and new media to language teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will teach face-to-face courses in Spanish and other languages, depending on qualifications, and will help Rivier University develop and implement an innovative web-mediated Self Instructional Language Program (SILP) to support the Core Curriculum and language-intensive majors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ability and willingness to support the mission of the University, in all daily activities.
The successful candidate will be able to articulate why he or she is particularly interested in teaching modern languages at a Roman Catholic University whose core mission is to ?transform hearts and minds to serve the world.? PhD required.
